Dialogues on the Threshold

Dialogues on the Threshold is a polyphonic and fragmentary narrative based on a collage of memories, dreams and stories mixed together with historical testimonies described through a conversation between three women. The work addresses the relationship between the everyday and the unusual where the historical and the fictitious exceeds, and the line between the collective and individual memory disappears.

The film is originally a 3-channel sound piece. The materials are downloaded from different websites offering footage for free such as Pexels, Vievo and Pixabay. Kramer has not used any of her own footage so she can enhance the kindship of images we have in our own memories across the individual and also across the geographical origins of the various footage, as the memories are both Kramer’s own and borrowed from others.
